Seafood Lasagna with Shrimp and Crab

Introduction

If you love seafood and cheesy pasta bakes, this Seafood Lasagna with Shrimp and Crab is the ultimate comfort food. Instead of the traditional tomato-based lasagna, this version is made with creamy Alfredo sauce, tender layers of lasagna noodles, and a rich blend of ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese. Topped with golden breadcrumbs for a crunchy finish, it’s a crowd-pleasing recipe perfect for dinner parties, holidays, or when you simply want to treat yourself to something special.

Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles, cooked al dente

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 1 pound crab meat (fresh, canned, or imitation)

  • 2 cups ricotta cheese

  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 4 cups Alfredo sauce (homemade or store-bought)

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • ½ cup breadcrumbs

  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Prepare the seafood
Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2–3 minutes until pink and opaque. Remove from heat and roughly chop. Combine with crab meat and set aside.

  2. Mix the cheese layer
In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 cup mozzarella, ½ cup Parmesan, and parsley. Stir until well blended.

  3. Assemble the lasagna

    • Spread ½ cup Alfredo sauce on the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.

    • Add a layer of cooked noodles.

    • Spread a layer of the ricotta mixture, followed by some shrimp and crab, then drizzle with Alfredo sauce.

    • Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with noodles, Alfredo sauce, and the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.

  4. Add breadcrumb topping
Melt butter in a small pan and stir in breadcrumbs. Sprinkle evenly over the top of the lasagna.

  5. Bake
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes, until golden and bubbling.

  6. Rest and serve
Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Tips & Variations

  • Make it extra creamy: Mix some Alfredo sauce into the ricotta layer.

  • Add veggies: Spinach, mushrooms, or zucchini pair beautifully with the seafood.

  • Lighter version: Use part-skim ricotta and mozzarella, or swap Alfredo sauce for a light cream sauce.

  • Meal prep tip: Assemble the lasagna a day in advance, refrigerate, then bake when ready to serve.

This Shrimp and Crab Seafood Lasagna is rich, comforting, and packed with flavor. Whether you’re serving it for a holiday dinner or a cozy weekend meal, it’s sure to impress seafood lovers at the table
