Slow Cooked Beef with Mashed Potatoes


 


Ingredients:


700 g halal beef, cut into medium chunks


2 medium onions, chopped


3 garlic cloves, minced


2 carrots, sliced


2 tbsp olive oil


2 tbsp tomato paste


1 tsp mixed spices


1 tsp black pepper


1 tsp paprika


1 bay leaf


3 cups beef broth (or hot water with halal bouillon)



For the mashed potatoes:


5 large potatoes, boiled


2 tbsp butter


½ cup warm milk


Salt to taste

👩‍🍳 Instructions:


1. In a large pot, heat olive oil and sear the beef until browned on all sides.



2. Add onions, garlic, and carrots. Cook until softened.



3. Stir in tomato paste, spices, paprika, and bay leaf. Mix well.



4. Pour in the broth, cover, and let it cook on low heat for 2–3 hours until the beef is tender and easily shredded.



5. Meanwhile, mash the boiled potatoes with butter, warm milk, and salt until creamy and smooth.



6. Serve the mashed potatoes in a bowl, topped with the slow-cooked beef and rich sauce.
