Peanut Butter Fudge


 


Ingredients

For the Base:

1 tablespoon water (for the 8×8 pan to help keep the parchment paper in place)

1 cup unsalted butter

1½ cups creamy peanut butter (NOT natural or natural no-stir varieties)

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

3¼ cups powdered sugar (sifted)

 

For Garnish (Optional):

M&M’s (for sprinkling on top)

 

Instructions

Prepare the Pan:

Lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking pan and place parchment paper inside. Pour 1 tablespoon of water into the pan to help secure the parchment.

 

Make the Fudge Base:

In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat until completely melted. Remove from heat and stir in the creamy peanut butter until smooth.

 

Combine Ingredients:

Add the vanilla extract and mix well. Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, mixing until the mixture is thick and smooth.

 

Pour and Spread:

Quickly pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan and even it out with a spatula.

 

Garnish (Optional):

If you like, sprinkle M&M’s on top, gently pressing them into the fudge.

 

Chill and Serve:

Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm. Lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment and cut into squares.
